About Betsy

Meet Betsy Fogle

Betsy Fogle is a lifelong Springfield resident and proud graduate of Springfield Public Schools. She earned her degree in sociology from Missouri State University and a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas.

Betsy Fogle spent her career at Jordan Valley Community Health Center, helping low-income patients navigate barriers that went far beyond medical care. She worked closely with families struggling to afford prescriptions, childcare, housing, and transportation. Her work in the OBGYN department deepened her commitment to supporting mothers and babies and expanding access to care.

That experience made something very clear to Betsy: state government was not listening to the real needs of the community - so she ran for office. In 2020, Betsy Fogle flipped a State House seat and went to represent Springfield in the State Capitol.

"I’ve worked to expand healthcare, invest in childcare and mental health services, and stand up for public schools, working families, and against corruption - and I’m running for State Senate to keep delivering results for Springfield."

In the Legislature

Betsy helped implement Medicaid expansion, granting healthcare access for more than 300,000 Missourians. She fought to extend postpartum Medicaid coverage for new mothers. She helped secure funding for a behavioral crisis center and a pediatric crisis center in Springfield, expanding much-needed access to mental health services. She delivered millions of dollars in childcare investments to help working parents.
